What is micro-needling?
Micro-needling is an exciting new procedure in cosmetic dermatology, which delivers promising results in skin rejuvenation. Also know as Collagen Induction Therapy, this FDA approved, non surgical treatment can significantly improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, skin sagging, acne scars and much more.
How does it work?
Micro-needling stimulates the production of collagen and elastin by producing micro-injuries to the skin. These are the building blocks of smooth supple skin. Micro-needling also creates small channels in the skin which allow better penetration of products, thus enhancing their effects.
How is the procedure performed?
After your skin is prepped, your dermatologist will use a sterile micro-needling device gliding methodically over the skin until the entire area has been treated. Some discomfort is to be expected, and is similar to sandpaper being moved across the skin.
Most patients will experience redness after the procedure, which can last up to 4 days, although typically, most patients will heal within 24 hours.
Most patients are advised to have a series of 4 treatments spaced about 4-6 weeks apart. For patients with more severe complaints, additional treatments may be necessary to achieve maximum benefit.
What are the benefits?
- Reduction of the presence of fine lines and wrinkles
- More youthful skin with reduced aging signs
- Effective measure of reducing hyper-pigmentation and hypo-pigmentation
- Improves acne scarring
- Creates a fresh, more vibrant appearance

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions.
