Skin Cancer Screening, Trinidad
SK!N | DERMATOLOGY SERVICES | TRINIDAD
Exposure to sunlight is one of the biggest risk factors influencing the development of skin cancer. In Trinidad’s tropical climate that is cause for some concern.
Anyone can get skin cancer, regardless of skin color. However, when detected early, skin cancer is highly treatable. The most common warning signs of skin cancer include changes in size, shape, or color of a mole or other skin lesion or the appearance of a new growth on the skin.
When you visit SK!N for a complete skin check-up, expect a 10-15-minute visit, including a review of your medical history and a head-to-toe skin examination. Any spots that your doctor suspects as worrisome will be biopsied. During a biopsy, a small piece of tissue is removed for evaluation by a pathologist, who can confirm the diagnosis.
This is a good time to raise any concern about spots you are worried about and discuss them. Your doctor can educate you about what to look for, such as any changes in the size, color, borders, or shape of a mole. If you have a history of skin cancer or numerous moles, it is important to follow up with the clinic for skin examinations at regular intervals as recommended by the doctor.
If you’re in need of a yearly skin exam or treatment for skin cancer, please contact SK!N to schedule a skin cancer screening session today.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions.
